Small businesses are the lifeblood of both the local and national economies, and each year holiday shoppers make an effort to support their favorites during Small Business Saturday.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, Small Business Saturday, which is the Saturday after Thanksgiving, was started in 2010 and has become an important part of a busy season for many local shops.


Ink + Wool along Commercial Ave. in Anacortes sells numerous gifts including plants, jewelry, crafts, clothing and other items, many of which are made locally.

Dorothea Coffee is located at 514 S. 1st St. Owner Conor Mahoney makes a pour-over brew with coffee from the Philippines.
