Sunier Sunier is gearing up for a memorable Dakar debut in 2023. The Chinese youngster is one of three riders selected by the ambitious Kove Rally team to represent their brand at this 45th edition, along with Liansong Deng and Ming Ji Fang. Set up by former motocross rider Zhang Xue, Kove Moto has emerged as a major new player in the Chinese motorcycle market, and the company is now looking to expand globally. What better way to showcase the potential of their bikes than to take part in the world's toughest offroad rally? Sunier was encouraged to get into racing by his father and has enjoyed watching his fellow compatriots tackle the Dakar in recent editions. The 25-year-old will be one of the youngest bikers competing this year, but he seems to have a wise head on his shoulders; his objective for this maiden outing is simply to get to grips with the Dakar and make sure he brings his Kove 450 to the finish line in Dammam.
“I first got interested in motorsport thanks to my father's influence. Taking part in the Dakar has been a dream since childhood. I've been inspired by seeing other Chinese competitors doing the rally. I'm feeling very confident and looking forward to taking part. For this first year, our main goal is to finish.”
