BURLINGTON — The Burlington-Edison School Board decided Monday to close one elementary school and turn another into a districtwide middle school as the district works to balance its budget.

School district Superintendent Chris Pearson said the moves will save the district $2.7 million and allow it to have a balanced budget for the next school year.
