A small group of Anacortes families and caregivers of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) are banding together in an effort to secure their loved one’s futures.

The new organization is called the Anacortes Able Housing Initiative, and is led by members of the Anacortes Kiwanis Aktion club–which is a social and service club for adults with IDD. The Housing Initiative officially received their 501c3 nonprofit status in December and now hopes to help solve the Anacortes housing crisis for adults with IDD.
