After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and a change in staffing, the Samish Indian Nation’s annual Health and Wellness Fair returned on Saturday, Oct. 19. This year’s event featured several tables lining the inside of the Fidalgo Bay Event center with flyers, freebies and other materials for attendees to interact with.

“A lot of our elders were asking for the Health and Wellness Fair to come back,” said the fair’s organizer, Olivia Duvall. “It might be at a smaller scale than it was previously, but it’s just a little starter... and (something to) get us back in and bring in attention around our health.”
