Oct. 27, 1904We have heard of large potatoes, read about them and saw a great many of them, but the largest potato we have ever east our eagle optics over is a six pound Burbank, which was raised by Ivan Alexander, in this city and which is now on exhibition at this office. There is an old adage about garden truck, that the finding of twin cucumbers, twin tomatoes, twin potatoes and other twin vegetables in the garden patch means something to the finder. Ivan’s whole patch of potatoes are twins and large ones at that and if, by and by he is the father of as many twin Alexanders, there will be no danger of race suicide in this locality.
